Oaktree Barn is a character, clean and cosy holiday cottage located in a small hamlet in between the beautiful Kentish villages of Great Chart and Bethersden. The Barn is 8 miles from the 'Jewel of the Weald' town of Tenterden with its tree lined greens and boutique shopping and antiques. 5 miles from Ashford where there are plenty of local amenities, shopping and excellent links to London. There is a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable living room, cosy bedroom and bathroom, electric heating.

House Rules

Smoking/Vaping only allowed outside the property - no smoking or vaping indoors please.

Dogs allowed off the lead but please be mindful of them and pickup any mess and place into the bucket provided outside.

Dog blankets are provided so that your fluffy friends can sit with you on the sofa, please do not let them onto furniture without first protecting it with a provided blanket :)

The space
Oaktree Barn is a small converted barn with open living space on the ground floor, the kitchen, dining area and living room all merge as one space but with distinct areas for cooking, eating, dressing and relaxing. The bathroom has an electric shower cubicle, sink and toilet.

Upstairs is the cozy bedroom located in the eaves of the barn at the top of a beautiful pine staircase.

It is by no means perfect and in some places is showing its age but its is clean and is a lovely little getaway in the Kentish Countryside with plenty of things to do around the local area, a means of transport is essential so as to take advantage of this part of Kent.
Guest access
Guest have their own indoor and outdoor space, not shared with anyone. Access to Oaktree Barn is via a private and separate gate to the main house. The outdoor space has been separated from the main house and gardens and is 'dog proof' to ensure that your pups aren't able to go wondering off. There is a large patio area with a small grass section with views of the eight ancient oak trees in the main properties garden.

Access to the main property or garden is not permitted by guests.
Additional notes
The bedroom is located in the eaves of the barn on the first floor and as such there is a low ceiling where guests will need to 'duck' / bend over to climb into bed but once you are in bed it is very comfortable and cozy!

The stairs also have low headroom for tall people.

If you have limited mobility then please consider the above before booking.

Please also note that we are located in the Kentish Countryside, away from urban areas and as such we have a wonderfully diverse selection of wildlife and are unable to guarantee that some of our tinier friends won't join you in your stay, if they do please let me know. We will also supply cleaning equipment for you to maintain hygiene during your stay.
